Conceptualization, illustrations & communications Diversity, Inclusion and Respect at Rio Tinto!

We are delighted to have collaborated once again with Rio Tinto and the DIR (Diversity, Inclusion and Respect) Committee, to promote dialogue, diversity, acceptance and benevolence within the teams.

The first mandate was to imagine and illustrate concepts for a clothing collection that was anything but “corpo”! We chose to use well-known and familiar expressions in an affirmative way, to lightly provoke and highlight some essential concepts around respect and acceptance of one and all. In collaboration with the in-house team, we finalized the following four concepts:

  • Respect my bubble : Evokes respect for personal space and the comfort zone of each individual.
  • Don’t badmouth anyone : Promotes respect by avoiding backbiting.
  • Don’t talk behind my back : Encourage transparency and openness, avoiding gossip.
  • Let me shine : Celebrates differences and lets everyone shine without overshadowing others.

Once these concepts were approved, Mylène moved on to the illustrations. First, several ideas were sketched out and shared to confirm the direction and ensure visual consistency. These were then refined. These illustrations were used to create clothing for employees. The result is a striking, up-to-date collection, with a youthful, bold look to attract attention and generate discussion.

Then, during our awareness days on inclusion, diversity and respect in everyday life on June 5 and 6, we reused these illustrations to create stickers and use the same style for a photobooth background and other communication tools.

We’re delighted to have been able to collaborate on these fine Rio Tinto initiatives, which resonate with our team’s values. We’re proud to have helped convey a positive message that we strongly support, and to have played a part in the dialogue and exchange between employees from different backgrounds.

Thanks to Rio Tinto for its renewed confidence!
